LIVE SETS AND STANDING PRESENTERS.

It is a great view when you have the right live set. but unless your set is propped for standing, please stick to the CU Shots.

And how is the best way for a lady to stand on a live set, just in case the cameraman may forget to give the right shot and the PD decides to punch the button.
Most live sets are not prepped for long shots. Bad recipe.

And i did not see the shadow...abi na ghost?

ON THE SHORT SKIRTS MATTER…TWIMC

I really wanted us to be open minded about the discussion. Some people have talked about my posts with me privately and I feel we should have those discussions here on the page.
This reply is for two persons who argued about my earlier post on HOW MUCH FLESH IS TOO MUCH FLESH.
I wish to ask again: is it OK to expose too much and not worry if we a distracting guests? I am doing his he because i couldn't add more pictures to he comment segment.
Here is a thought I wish to share about a video on you tube:

1- KIMBERLY GUILFOYLE LEGS DISTRACT ANA KASPARIAN
Published on May 5, 2012 Via Mediaite: "Ana Kasparian, co-host of The Young Turks, apparently suffers from an all-too-common malady: Fox News Legs Syndrome. During a segment on Friday's web-only portion of the Current TV hit featuring Bob Beckel playing pot/kettle with Joy Behar's looks, Kasparian confessed that The Five co-host
You can watch it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?gl=NG&v=2Jgw5t3FwtY&hl=en-GB

2- THIS ARTICLE BY I HATE THE MEDIA WEBSITE DONE IN 2009 MAY HELP A LITTLE. (SEE THE PICTURES OF SOME FOX PRESENTERS...)
Fox News ratings are rising, so are its anchors’ skirts
by EDITOR on MARCH 30, 2009
We regularly cover the booming ratings at Fox News.
Well, pardon us for being slow. We had never noticed how short the skirts are on the Fox News women anchors until someone sent us this video. With the hot TV anchor babes in their short skirts and beautiful legs (In the interest of full disclosure, we should also reveal that we used to buy Playboy just for the articles).
The note attached to the video postulated that there may be a direct relationship between the rise in ratings at Fox News and the rise of the Fox women skirts. If true, it’s an interesting programming strategy.
Will Fox News ratings dominance last? Can the skirts of Fox women go any higher? Can the Fox News legs get any better? Well, they certainly appear to have legs. And pay particular attention to Laurie Dhue. We’d sure like a 3D printer copy of her.

3- HERE ARE ALSO A REACTIONS BY TWO LADIES ABOUT WEARING BUM SHOTS AND MINIES
EroticAngelina:
I wear bum shorts almost all the time..but I don't wear it outsyd! too many bad sex starved agbero boys full my estate I wear mini skirts with boots.. its not that bad.
HERE'S ANOTHER
'bum shorts are cool sha they look nice
but mini skirts
micro mini
hot mini
if dumb....i can't advise my enemies daughter to wear one
they annoying thing is all this werey girls that wear mini skirts and you see them trying to pull it down or covering their legs with handkerchief while sitting.....na elastic you dey draw abi
dey there dey decieve your papa'

4- DID YOU WATCH THE VIDEO OF BLOOMBERG TV PRESENTER SARA EISEN?
In the heat of discussing the super hot Facebook IPO, these Bloomberg TV reporters suffered some technical difficulties. Atch and Skip 22 seconds in and help us solve the mystery.
The segment had already started off disastrously before the wardrobe malfunction exposed a weird black object under Sara Eisen's dress as she sits at her desk.
Eisen's counterpart who opens the segment had been completely inaudible, which may be the reason that the camera abruptly cuts to Eisen when she's unprepared. Eisen quickly covers up, and recovers quite gracefully.
It is easy to reach under a short skirt. And a camera mistake can show more than a foreign black object if it was under a micro mini skirt.

BUTTONS AND EARPIECE

I sincerely had nothing against him. His delivery was superb and his suit 'suited' well.

Two things brought him to purgatory:-
1- The failed button rule.
2- The White earpiece: look at the two pictures, in the first one the ear piece in on the right side, in the second, it is on the left ear. (continuity for movies)
There may be a third one: My eyes just feel the wrist watch may just have been too large for the suit.

HOW MUCH 'LEGS' IS TOO MUCH FLESH

I do not intend to spark off a gender based debate. I will post this if a guy shows up with a pair of Boxers'.

I think it is not just enough if the presenter is comfortable in a short dress over crossed legs. but we should worry about two other sets of people: the guests in the studio and the audience at home.

I NO DEY HOUSE (in queens tone)

ASO EBI OF SORTS

Thanks to Prof. Remi Raj i can now properly refer to the wedding 'jerseys' worn by many these days.

i don't think it is wrong to show up for News wearing an aso ebi. but to move aso ebi to a level of hyper monochrome (where your eye-shadow matches your clothes, hair, lips, blush and necklace), is worrisome.
What do you think?

will love it if we can honestly interrogate the issues that i rise here

A TREND OF BIG GOWNS

I have nothing against women who are big.
There are however ways that some dress that will make them cute, regardless of their size.
A parked hair on a big head will look cuter than a loose style.
A big flowing or hanging butterfly will take space on any TV screen.
I will share some tjoughts later about hiw the stripes should go and how best to look good without eating up all the space on our screen.
That will be when i get home.

YES. SHE IS A REPORTER

How would you describe the 'activities' going on in this picture?

I feel some level of indecision: to cover or not.

I vote for NO STAND-UP today.

You really don't have to do a stand up, if you don't like what you are wearing or if you are not so sure how it looks.

Channel your energy into your voice quality.

HOW DO YOU SIT IN AN ENTERTAINMENT SHOW?

I have seen may styles that entertainment people use but this one...

BELT ISSUES

There are many things wrong here.
I chose to speak about the best.
Where should the belt be? In a woman's dress?
What is normal about the size of a belt?..
Why do women wear belts?

THE RED DOT HAS A PERSONAL MEANING...

I think he was well dressed but i am still searching for the meaning of the red brooch on his lapel.
I guess he has a personal interpretation to it.

STYLIST ON STRIKE

What really can you do when your stylist travels without notices and takes the key to your wardrobe along?
If that opens i will advice that you INVEST in advance in a GOOD WIG or try great styles that work well with your natural hair. And that does not include trying to mimic witches.

I NO DEY HOUSE

SHOULDER PADS AND BODY BUILDING

I did not see anything wrong with this.. yes i saw the shoulders and the built body because the cloth was too tight But that was what it was meant to do.

I just don't think it was on the appropriate frame or screen.

It doesn't take away the fact that she read the news well and was pretty as well.
I am in the neighbourhood

SUN SCREEN IN THE STUDIO

I have to stop complaining about the length of skirts or the hairy(ness) of exposed legs.

Not on this one, i must inquire from you ladies...

do you use sunscreen or groundnut oil in the studio? Mosturizer?
And I don't mean it in an insulting way.

just think they were too shiny

NOISY CAMISOLE

I Loved the blue jacket for Chelsea FC.
I need you all to help me look at this again.
If there is nothing in this that suggests haste or borrowed jacket.
Should we forgive her if she was not originally scheduled to read the news?
or is she just a new ''style''?

EYE SAW

Sometimes... you need dark SUN shades even in the dark.

AUGUST MEETING

In August, some traditional women from eastern Nigeria meet to hold a special meeting. They are usually beautifully dressed.

This caster suggests that there may be a history to it, long before they started dressing well.

Memories of DR. WHO?

I am convinced that the dress can get a pass any day.

A RED NIGHT

Red means different things to different people...

While it connotes confidence and its wearer sure would look good, this night, many things go through your mind as you behold the athlete-caster.. she is wearing a suit (not a track suit) though her exaggerated pose makes it look like one who just threw a javelin...

she is so red, the man on the screen shut his eyes...

WHATS THE BEST ATTIRE FOR A SPORTS SHOW?
(@Benjaminubiri) (@channels_sports) @channelstv

I think it is OK for a sports caster or panelist to be appropriately kited.

And there exists a wide variety of options to chose from. They will include jackets, T shirts and many others... but to show up for a live talk show in a dinner dress, as if it was a fashion show, gives me a bit of a scare.

BRAZILIAN RADIO DJ SHOT (KILLED) ON A LIVE SHOW

BRAZILIAN RADIO DJ SHOT (KILLED) ON A LIVE SHOW
(@Benjaminubiri)

A Brazilian radio DJ Gleydson Carvalho was gunned down in a studio during a live broadcast.

Two gunman forced their way into Radio Liberdade FM in Camocin, in north east Brazil, overpowered a receptionist and an engineer and stormed into the studio where Gleydson was talking to his listeners and shot him five times, three times in the head and twice in the chest. The killers left in a motorbike.

An hour before he was killed, the DJ had been campaigning against corruption. He was known for his long-standing campaign against government corruption. He'd even received death threats while on air
"They came to the station's facility and said that they had to make an announcement,“ Herbert Silva, a local police chief, said of the killers.

He added that the the culprits have been identified.

"We're going to find them soon because they don't have water, money, food and they are in a region with a lot of sun, rocks - almost a desert."

HERE IS WHAT A FRIEND SHARED WITH ME...

ARE YOU READY FOR YOUR BIG SCENE
TIPS ON HOW TO DRESS TO APPEAR ON TV
In today's world video cameras are everywhere. Think about it, even many of our mobile phones can shoot a video. There are also more and more places to show these videos. In additional to traditional broadcast and cable television outlets, you now have the internet with videos on websites. And sending out DVDs of yourself or for your company or organization is easier than ever. So you need to be prepared, as you never know when you may be asked to be on-camera. So, how should you dress for your next big appearance?
Don't panic, it's not hard. At a minimum ask in advance what you should be wearing. Then choose clothing that fits the requirements and that make you feel comfortable. It can be just that simple. But here are some tips to help with your big appearance.
  1. Avoid wearing white. Television cameras typical find the brightest object in the picture and make it white or 100% video level and the darkest item in the picture becomes black which is typical 7% video level. Every other color and brightness falls in between that range. For example, a white shirt can almost glow and becomes very noticeable on TV. So avoid wearing white. It will make your face look brighter.
  2. Avoid wearing black, for the same reasons as above. Black colors are usually harsh and need more light to show up on video camera, so as the camera lets in more light everything else in the picture becomes washed out possibly including your face.
  3. Avoid highly saturated colors, especially red. The way video cameras work saturated reds can almost bleed into other parts of the picture for different reasons but giving the same effect as they can bleed in you wash.
  4. Avoid wearing pin stripes, checks, herringbone patterns or small intricate designs as they may appear to vibrate on television. Video cameras scan to make images with a number of scanning lines or pixel arrays. Often times the patterns in clothing will interact with the camera's scanning pattern and generate new patterns or what is known as moray patterns. To the viewer this looks like your clothes are vibrating or buzzing which is distracting. To see a simple example of this, look through two pieces of patio screening and move one piece screen in front of the other and you will see a number of new patters or morays being generated.
  5. PASTEL SOLID COLORS WORK BEST. If you have a pastel outfit that draws compliments when you wear it that is most likely the outfit you should wear on TV. You'll be more confident and relaxed and will be able to be yourself. Check the day before to make sure the outfit still fits properly and that it is clean and wrinkle free.
  6. Don't get too carried away with too wild an outfit unless of course you are fashion designer or artist that can justify it. Women may want to avoid short skirts or shorts or short blouses that show your midsection. You want TV viewers to focus on your face and what you are saying and not on your clothes or the lack of them.
  7. If possible, avoid anything that glints, shines, or reflects. As a general rule don't wear flashy jewelry, dangling earrings, charm bracelets, or even necklaces that may make noise when you move. A good rule of thumb, not to make a pun, is not more than one ring per hand. Light reflections or flashes become a distraction in the picture and noises made by jewelry will be picked up by the microphone creating a distraction in the audio. You want the viewer to pay attention to what you are saying, not to your accessories.
  8. Avoid message buttons or stickers as they may become the message that is remembered. Often times today we may be videotaped at work or at a convention, so be sure to take off the name or security badge before you go on camera.
  9. Makeup definitely matters. Makeup should be used in moderation, but at a minimum you should powder your nose, forehead and face to avoid looking shiny, oily or plastic. Be sure the powder you use on your face is the same color as your skin. Lighter or darker make-up may be noticed by the camera. If the studio or production company offers a make-up artist, accept it, but don't let them go overboard. Again, you need to be you.
  10. Don't forget the top of your head. If you are bald or balding, be sure to powder your head. The way most TV lighting works the forehead is the most likely place to reflect light or shine. If you have hair, comb it before you go on camera and keep your hair out of your eyes or viewers will focus on your hair and never get your message.
  11. Some professionals even suggest shaving your mustache for a TV appearance as the mustache obscures your mouth, teeth and facial expressions. Some people can get away with a mustache, but most cannot. Likewise, most recommend that women don't wear lip gloss or any shiny makeup because it may take away from what is being said.
  12. If you wear glasses all the time, then wear them on TV, but try to get glare-proof glasses, especially if you are going to appear on TV regularly. However, don't ever wear tinted glasses or sunglasses, even outside, unless of course you are Jack Nicholson. People need to see your eyes.
  13. Most women know how dress to make their size look best. But for guys this is the rule: if you have an overweight waist or you are wearing a suit that is not perfectly tailored, then keep your jacket buttoned. This will keep your tie in place, your suit symmetrical, and minimize your gut by showing less of your shirt which may look huge hanging out from your coat. On the other hand, if you have zero fat on your waistline, have a new, perfectly tailored suit and a perfectly tied necktie, you can leave your suit jacket unbuttoned.

EL-RUFAI REPLIES, SUES OVER FALSE ASSETS REPORT

ON THE 90 BILLION MATTER, EL-RUFAI REPLIES, SUES OVER FALSE ASSETS REPORT

HERE IS THE RELEASE FROM HIS CHIEF PRESS SECRETARY...

After a busy few weeks as governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai is dismayed by the blatant falsehood being practiced as journalism by The Union newspapers. He has consequently directed his legal team to vigorously enforce his rights to protect his reputation from the vandalism of irresponsible hacks.

The Union chose to write a spurious story alleging N90b as his assets  declaration without seeing the declaration made by Malam El Rufai. The circle of blackmail that did the story claimed they heard a rumour, and they pursued the rumour so vigorously they transformed it into news.

When some of their cohorts made contact with the governor’s media team insisting that they respond to rumour, they were told that it is better if they chose the more legitimate route of agitating for a public asset declaration.

Fair minded people who read the story will notice that it is not grounded in any evidence. It is just the animus of blackmailers who regard Malam Nasir El-Rufai as easy prey. But since his reputation is not based on purchased kudos, he cannot be compelled into accommodation with venal people masquerading as journalists.

Malam Nasir El-Rufai is a privileged Nigerian. He qualified as a chartered Quantity Surveyor early in life and became a dollar millionaire in his twenties.

He is a respected leader in in his professional field but as successful as he has been in his career, he certainly has neither N90 billion nor 40 mansions.

He will not be distracted from his total focus on making Kaduna great again. In this endeavour, he will continue to be accessible to practitioners of responsible journalism.

FORGIVE THE ELDER

ORUBEBE CREATES A SCENE, BEGS NIGERIANS

After creating a scene at the National Coalition centre yesterday, Former Niger Delta Affairs Minister Elder Godsday Orubebe has apologised for his behaviour Speaking with reporters last night, the PDP party agent, who held up proceedings and used abusive words on Jega, said he regretted his action and asked Nigerian to forgive his behaviour.

The former minister, who was also an agent of the PDP at the centre, took the floor after he refused to return the microphone, called Prof. Jega all sorts of names, then he literarily took to the floor: sitting on the stage, with support from others in a way that disrupted the process for a while.
But he has apoligised:

''Election is a passionate thing and I really regret what took place this morning. I was unnecessarily pushed by Jega to get to that level. I want to apologise particularly to young Nigerians that look up to take politics as a career to say that what happened was not intended to cause them any embarrassment. To Nigerians generally, I regret my actions as even an elder in the church, and a leader, the young men expected to see a lot from me and I believe that if there was any disappointment they got from me I apologize to Nigerians and to the youths of this country.”

Prof. Etu-Efeotor struggles with Rivers poll result

There was the need for some comic relief at the Abuja venue of the collation of results from Saturday’s presidential election and Prof. John Etu-Efeotor, the returning officer for Rivers state, provided a large dose as he found it difficult to read out the results from the exercise in Rivers.

He had complained about the quality of light at the podium.

Chairman of INEC, Prof. Attahiru Jega had to direct that a studio light be moved closer to the podium, for Etu-Efeotor who is the vice chancellor of the Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Warri, Delta State.
Someone else had to be directed to reel out the results when it became obvious that the RO was having difficulty with the task.
